π How to Measure Before You Buy
Use this simple guide to help estimate how many cartons of tile you need before placing your order.
β Step 1: Measure Your Space
Measure the length and width of each area you plan to tile (in feet). Multiply the two numbers to get the square footage.
π Formula:
Length (ft) Γ Width (ft) = Square Footage
β Step 2: Add Extra for Waste
Add 10% extra to your total to account for cuts, trimming, mistakes, or future repairs.
π Formula:
Square Footage Γ 1.10 = Total Sq. Ft. with Overage
β Step 3: Calculate Cartons Needed
Find the product's coverage per carton (listed in the product details). Divide your adjusted total square footage by that number.
π Formula:
Total Sq. Ft. Γ· Coverage per Carton = Cartons Needed
β Step 4: Round Up
Always round up to the next whole carton. This ensures youβll have enough material on hand.
π¦ Sample Scenario
Letβs say youβre tiling a small bathroom:
-
The bathroom measures 10 ft by 8 ft
β 10 Γ 8 = 80 sq. ft. -
Add 10% for waste:
β 80 Γ 1.10 = 88 sq. ft. needed -
Each carton covers 9.7 sq. ft.
β 88 Γ· 9.7 = 9.07 cartons -
Always round up
β You should order 10 cartons
π‘ Tip:
If your space has unusual shapes or multiple rooms, measure each area separately and then total them before using the formulas above.
